Couples Counseling in Little Rock, AR

Building More Fulfilling Partnerships Together

Whether you’ve been with your partner for a few months, years, or decades, couples counseling from our Littler Rock therapists may help you to establish, maintain, or restore a thriving partnership. At Compass Family Counseling, our therapists appreciate that the relationships we have with others will impact all areas of our lives. It’s important to understand how you form bonds with your spouse or significant other, and how, through therapy, you can work to ensure you’re creating meaningful relationships that offer a source of stability and support in your life. Give us a call to schedule your first session.

Pre-Marital Counseling

We are happy to offer pre-martial counseling. Some faiths require pre-marital counseling sessions as part of the preparatory process for a wedding within specific churches, and we’re happy to accommodate couples who are seeking faith-based pre-marital counseling. Additionally, we’re happy to see couples who want to take the time to address areas where tensions may arise before they say I do. During pre-marital counseling, you can talk through the common factors that contribute to divorce, improve communication skills, and generally ensure you and your partner are on the same page before your big day.

Marriage & Relationship Therapy

Any time you want to practice communication and collaboration skills or improve any aspect of your relationship, working with a therapist can be beneficial. Some of the reasons people choose to schedule marriage and relationship therapy with our team include:

  • Building a strong partnership – visiting a therapist in the beginning of your relationship gives you a safe space to work through potentially complicated situations like finances, family, career, and other potential deal breakers and ensure you build a solid foundation for a lasting partnership.
  • Retaining a fulfilling  relationship – even if your relationship is okay or you’re feeling content, you may find yourself thinking fondly of the way things used to be. Relationships are always changing, but if you’re not completely satisfied with where you are now, therapy may offer tools to help you improve your partnership.
  • Restoring commitment and fidelity – if one or both partners are unhappy in the relationship for any reasons, therapy is a great resource to repair and renew the partnership.
  • Ending a union – divorce isn’t easy, but if it’s the right decision for your marriage, working with a therapist can help make the transition easier.

What to Expect During Couples Counseling

A couples therapy plan with one of our counselors is customized to address your relationship needs and help you and your partner achieve your goals, but navigating relationship counseling requires a therapist who is able to continually assess and respond to the changing dynamics between two people. In order to help you and your partner grow stronger together and as thriving individuals, your counselor will use a number of research-based counseling techniques, but most importantly, your therapist listens and responds to changing needs as they arise in session and beyond our office doors. By walking alongside you in your relationship, the counselor can become an important resource for support and guidance as you develop skills that will see you through challenging situations.
